The Value4Farm project joins AREA ZERO: a network of various European projects focused on promoting sustainable farming practices and reducing reliance on fossil fuels in agriculture. A key aspect of this is developing and promoting renewable energy sources such as biogas, solar energy, and geothermal energy.
Innovative projects
The cluster includes numerous innovative projects. Think of RES4LIVE, which focuses on solar energy in agriculture, or HyPErFarm, where the use of drones and sensors is central. Additionally, the following projects are still ongoing:
– REGACE: Research on sustainable energy solutions for agriculture.
– PV4Plants: Integration of solar energy into plant production.
– Symbiosyst: Synergies between farming systems and sustainable energy.
Sharing knowledge and experience

The connection of Value4Farm to the Area Zero cluster is a significant step towards a sustainable and future-proof agricultural sector. By sharing knowledge and experiences, we can jointly develop innovative solutions that contribute to greener and more sustainable agriculture. This cluster will also facilitate exchange between different projects and ensure a more efficient transfer of acquired knowledge to the end user.
Renewal and expansion of the network
The aim now is to actively seek more interesting and relevant projects to join the Area Zero cluster together with the current members. This way, the network receives a fresh boost and dynamism, opening new opportunities for research and development. This is essential to face future challenges.
However, projects that have already concluded are also very welcome. TheGreeFa, AgroFossilFree, RENAISSANCE, and AgroBioHeat: all contributed in their own way to this success story, and their insights are equally valuable. Building a strong network with past, present, and new partners is what it’s all about.
