Value4Farm at the World Biogas Expo

The World Biogas Association (WBA), the University of Reading and ORKIDEA had the opportunity to present the Value4Farm Horizon Europe project at the World Biogas Expo organised by WBA and the UK Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources (ADBA) in Birmingham, UK, on 10-11 July 2024 – both in a conference session and with a dedicated exhibition stand.

Helga Gunnlaugsdóttir, Sveinn Aðalsteinsson, Julian Park, Jocelyne Bia, Yiorgos Gadanakis

Opening proceedings in the Engine Room Theatre on 10 July, WBA’s Head of Corporate Communications Jocelyne Bia, provided an overview of the project goals and objectives before Professor Julian Park and Dr Yiorgos  Gadanakis from the University of Reading presented the outcome of a survey among farmers’ needs, which will steer the work of the 14 organisations brought together in this research programme.

Value4Farm aims to decarbonise agriculture in Europe through the integrated deployment of biogas and agrivoltaic technologies on farms of various sizes and climatic/geological environments.

A number of visitors stopped by the exhibition stand, and several from the biogas sector expressed interest in the project and in participating—particularly through membership in the Technology Providers and End-Users boards currently being assembled by the WBA. Anyone interested should contact Jocelyne Bia at jbia@worldbiogasassociation.org, visit the Value4Farm website and/or sign up to the newsletter to keep up to date with the project.

WBA would like to thank Julian Park and Yiorgos Gadanakis of the University of Reading and Helga Gunnlaugsdóttir and Sveinn Aðalsteinsson of Orkidea for their support at the World Biogas Expo.
