Value4Farm’s 5th Consortium Meeting in Piacenza

Earlier this month, the Value4Farm consortium gathered in Piacenza, Italy, for its 5th meeting, hosted by our partner Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. This in-person meeting was a valuable opportunity for partners to exchange updates, align on next steps, and strengthen our shared mission: defossilising the agricultural sector through locally adapted renewable energy solutions.

The discussions were constructive and forward-looking, helping us shape the path ahead for demonstrating three innovative value chains across Europe.

As part of the meeting, the consortium also visited three inspiring sites:

Two agrivoltaic demonstration sites led by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and equipped with REM TEC APV solutions, showcasing how crop production and solar energy can work hand in hand.

A biomethane farm operated by CIB, Consorzio Italiano Biogas, one of our replication leaders, demonstrating circularity in farming and energy autonomy through the conversion of agricultural residues into renewable energy.

These visits provided concrete examples of how renewable energy technologies can be successfully integrated into farming systems, creating synergies between energy and food production while contributing to sustainability and climate goals.
