Biodiversity Assessment at APV Site in Denmark – VALUE4FARM Project

In late June, a biodiversity assessment was conducted by IUGN (Poland) at the vertical agrivoltaic (APV) site in Aarhus University in Denmark, as part of the VALUE4FARM project.

Researchers installed pitfall traps to monitor ground-dwelling arthropods such as beetles and ants, collected and hand-sorted soil samples to assess earthworm populations, and used insect nets to capture flying insects, including pollinators and parasitoids, across different microclimatic zones. The aim was to explore how APV systems influence habitat diversity and ecosystem services.
