Value4Farm at the 3rd AgriVoltaics Conference in Vienna!

In early November 2024, Magnus Kamau Katana Lindhardt and Maryam Rahimi Jahangirlou from Aarhus University attended the 3rd AgriVoltaics Conference in Vienna (Austria) to present the Value4Farm project.

Representing their team, they presented the progress of the project, shared informational flyers, and engaged in face-to-face panel discussions with attendees to promote the innovative research conducted under these initiatives and exchange ideas.

The conference was strategically planned as a remarkable platform to explore the vast potential and significant benefits of agrivoltaics. It covered a wide range of topics, including phenotyping, modeling, PV technology, and legislative frameworks, showcasing the comprehensive nature of this growing field. The event brought together leading innovators in agrivoltaics, including those advancing photovoltaic greenhouses, aquavoltaics, urban agrivoltaics utilizing thin-film photovoltaics, and vertical agrivoltaics.

The Aarhus University agrivoltaics demonstration site was highlighted as an example of high-tech agroforestry, featuring vertically installed panels designed to act as wind shelters. Combined with smart cropping systems and crop rotation strategies linked to biogas and biorefineries, it exemplifies progress toward more sustainable and circular cropping systems.
