Agrivoltaic systems: Trade-offs on microclimate, physiology, yield and canopy thermal-spectral maps

This study explores how agrivoltaic systems, which combine solar panels with crop cultivation, affect microclimate, plant growth, and crop yield. Field experiments showed that panel arrangements can improve plant physiological traits and stabilize yields under dry conditions, highlighting the potential for climate-smart, resource-efficient farming. These findings support Value4Farm’s mission to promote innovative, sustainable solutions that enhance both food production and renewable energy use on European farms.
